Make and decorate your own box drum and learn how to play it with master teaching artist Baba Jubal Harris.
July 18 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Can you make, decorate, and learn to play a drum in two hours? Absolutely!
In this make and take workshop, participants will create and decorate their own box drum under the direction of master teaching artist Baba Jubal Harris. After the drums are complete, Baba Jubal will teach the group drum rhythms and introduce the basics of improvisation to make music on the spot.
Presented by our Creative Aging Department, this workshop is open to individuals ages 55+. All participants will create their own personal drum to take home. No experience necessary and all materials will be provided.
This program is free of charge, but donations are welcome! All donations will support the mission of The Music Settlement and the talented team who coordinates these events.
This program is made possible by support from the Cuyahoga County Division of Senior and Adult Services through the Health Aging Grant funding from the Ohio Department of Aging.
