Marta Sánchez Trio @ BOP STOP

We are excited to welcome the exciting pianist/composer, Marta Sánchez, and her trio. The band will be presenting the music of their new CD “Perpetual Void”, which was released earlier this year. The CD was recorded with Chris Tordini on bass and Savannah Harris on drums, but for this occasion, the great Tyrone Allen and Eliza Salem will be stepping in for them. Tickets for tonight are $20 each in advance, $25 day of show.
This event will also be livestreamed on BOP STOP's Youtube Channel at showtime. Accessing the stream is free but donations are encouraged and directly support the band.

Born and raised in Madrid, Spain, pianist and composer Marta Sánchez is actively working in the contemporary creative music scene in New York City and around the globe. Charting a significant path through her innovative and original music, she has reached an international audience, gaining significant global recognition.
She has toured the United States and Europe performing as a leader at prestigious venues and prominent festivals such as Vitoria-Gasteiz Jazz Festival, Madrid Jazz Festival, Eurojazz in Mexico City, Eurojazz in Athens, Jazzaldia, Jazz Festival Vitoria Gasteiz, Winter Jazz Festival in New York, festivals in Nicaragua, Guatemala, Eurojazz Jazz in Athens, and many others. In the States, she has performed as a leader at some of the most prestigious clubs including Dizzy’s Club, Jazz Gallery, Roulette Intermedium, Smoke, Birdland, Blue Note, 55 Bar, Smalls, the Stone, and Mezzrow, Village Vanguard, among many others.
She plays and records with the David Murray Quartet, Oscar Noriega Quartet, Maria Grand Duo, and many other projects as a sideman, including Sara Serpa, Emma Frank, Alfredo Colon, etc.
She released a new trio album in 2024 with the label Intak!, with Christopher Tordini on bass and Savannah Harris on drums called “Perpetual Void.” In this endeavor, there is space for open improvisation, along with form and harmony, complexity and simplicity, and amidst all of that, beauty. The trio's focus is on creating a balanced, immersive musical experience, emphasizing collaboration and the individual strengths of each musician.
