------------------
Ohio-based group Laura Camara & The Jake Reed Trio is fast becoming one of the premier jazz groups in the American Midwest. With an exciting array of musical colors and textures, bold arrangements and masterful improvisation they continue to captivate audiences all over the country. The quartet was formed in 2018 when internationally renowned jazz vocalist Laura Camara joined forces with masterful musicians: drummer Jake Reed, bassist Bradley Mellen, and pianist Tony Bonardi. Jake’s trio had already been performing regularly since 2003 when Laura joined the group upon her return from over a decade of performing in New York and abroad. Boasting a synergy that rivals the old masters, the trio had already established itself as a formidable force. With the addition of Laura Camara, bringing with her a soaring voice and remarkable improvisational skills, the group has reached exciting new heights, expanding throughout the region. They have performed at venues and festivals all over the Midwest and have recently released their debut album “Shades of Ellington” a retrospective of the many eras of the great Duke Ellington’s compositions. Interpreting this classic repertoire with unexpected bends and twists, as only this group can. "Shades of Ellington" is currently in rotation at radio stations across the United States and is available on all platforms.
