Carol Leslie brings her Scottish humor, and her international vocal jazz pipes to the Bop Stop on Saturday 3rd May at 7pm. She is Ohio’s Celtic import, singing beautiful songs from the Great American Songbook, as well as some R & B, pop hits, and blues. In addition to the musicians in her band, Carol will be joined on a few tunes by vocalist Erny Nuñez.

Tickets to attend in person are $20 each. This event will also be livestreamed on BOP STOP's Youtube Channel at showtime. Accessing the stream is free but donations are encouraged and directly support the band.

Carol Leslie is a Scottish import to NE Ohio; a vocalist who performs jazz cabaret at black-tie events, fundraisers, intimate cabarets. She embraces torch songs by greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Lena Horne, Diana Krall, Amy Winehouse, Brandi Carlile, Peggy Lee, and more. A multi-genre singer, with a range across R & B, Jazz, Celtic songs, Broadway, Pop, Blues, Folk and more, her CD, Carol Leslie at the Bop Stop Live! can be found on www.cdbaby.com. Prior to her move from Edinburgh, Scotland, to Bermuda, where she lived prior, she represented Scotland on a BBC TV live broadcast across Europe, called, “Rising Stars!” This prompted radio interviews and performances, such as BBC Radio’s “Debut.” NE Ohio has adopted this Scottish lass with blue-eyed soul!

Ed Ridley II, pianist, composer, arranger, recording artist, degreed musician and professor, will join Carol to hit the ivories and add his inimitable flair to beautiful ballads and bebop jazz. He is an award-winning creator, recording engineer and artist, who is often found supporting voice, eg Broadway musicals, church, etc. He and Carol have worked together for several years, and their combination of talents is a beautiful blend.

Ed Lemmers, bassist, is known for playing both upright and 7-string electric bass. He is the leader of Monkey Kats and Eclectic Vision bands, and is a composer, owner/recording engineer for Visionary Mantra Studios. He has toured internationally with renowned blues artist, Travis Haddix and has performed with CSU Jazz band under the direction of clarinetist/flautist/composer Howie Smith. He has played with numerous NE Ohio bands, eg, Suburban Symphony, Burning River Jazz, The Townsman, The Knights Tempo, In Flight, Tantric Pulse, The Green Street Trio, the Allen-Keith Band, The Reid Project, Oldies but Goodies, Tangents and Full Circle. He is currently performing with The SwingTime Big Band, The Don Goodman Duo, Steady Groove, and Best of Friends.

Ricky Exton, drummer/percussionist/composer/arranger/producer/recording artist, is a most versatile drummer on the NE Ohio scene. He pays homage to his mentor, the late Bob McKee, or channels Shelly Manne. He has played drums since his childhood days of the Tri C All Stars. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass., he has played jazz festivals, concerts, television appearances, private and corporate events. His quality playing guaranteed him ability to perform with stars like Lou Rawls, Wynton Marsalis, Rufus Reid, Terence Blanchard, Ernie Krivda, Cyrus Chestnut, Joanne Brackeen, Kim Nazarian, Dominick Farinacci, and international guitar virtuoso, Neil Zaza.

Jim Cirillo, saxophonist, consultant, investor, tech fan and host of JimJim’s Reinvention Revolution podcast. He has worked with big bands, acoustic jazz combos, electric/rock groups, and tribute bands, giving him a diverse and wide repertoire! He has developed a love of world travel, such as Thailand, Australia, Cuba and the Philippines, where he explores their cultures and shares musical experiences. He has played with and for some dynamic players, including Stevie Wonder.

Joe Rangel, guitarist, is someone whose skills are making him one of the go-to guitarists in NE Ohio. A degreed professional, his excellence becomes clear within the first few bars of a tune. He is an educator, a mentor, and is often found accompanying local vocalists, eg Maria DiDonato, Dane Vannatter, Randie Shane, given his exquisite ‘ear’ and ability to play across genres. Within the past 2 years, he has performed in California, something that makes NE Ohio proud!
