BOP STOP welcomes vocalist and composer, Emma Hedrick, for her debut at the venue as she promotes her debut album release, Newcomer, which releases on August 1st. Written during her formative time as a student in the Netherlands and Miami, this soulful collection of contemporary jazz is a musical scrapbook that blends modernity and tradition. The songs weave through a wide variety of genres from swing to samba to singer-songwriter with engaging lyrics as the through-line, contributing to a can't-miss set of creativity and authenticity.Tickets for tonight are $15 each in advance, $20 day of show.

Emma Hedrick is an award-winning vocalist, composer, and bandleader from Indiana. Known for both voice and composition, she was a Semi-Finalist in the International Songwriting Competition and was recently awarded a 2025 New Works Commission. She has performed internationally, including performances at the Indy Jazz Fest, Rochester Jazz Festival, Telluride Jazz Festival, as a part of the JAS Academy directed by Christian McBride, and in the Jong Metropole tour of the Netherlands and Germany. She received 7 Downbeat Student Music Awards for Jazz Voice throughout her academic career, and is a National YoungArts Winner in Voice.
She is joined by her quintet of up-and-coming talent from across the U.S, including Gavin Gray on Bass, Greg Niemi on Drums, Ellie Pruneau on Piano, and Shane McCandless on Saxophone.
