RA Washington is known for his work in conceptual art, music, poetry, writing, and community organizing. Since relocating to Cleveland in 1991, he has been involved in various collaborative projects, including co-founding DIY spaces like Inside Outside Gallery, The Church of Albert Ayler, and Guide To Kulchur (GTK), a cooperative press and bookstore. He has contributed as a composer, instrumentalist, and vocalist in bands such as Vernacular, Blk Tygr, and Mourning[A] BLKstar. Co-founding Mourning [A] BLKstar led to the collective receiving the 2021 Cleveland Arts Prize in Music.
Sierra Delaine is the kind of artist who makes you feel something deep in your chest. Whether she’s on stage, in the studio, or leading a workshop, everything she touches carries intention. A singer, songwriter, producer, and visual artist from Cleveland, she blends jazz, hip-hop, and soul to create music that’s both a balm and a spark—something to soothe you, but also to move you.
Black Voltron delivers electrifying live performances, blending classical training, church roots, and diverse lived experiences. Their versatile musicianship captivates audiences in venues of all sizes, conveying raw energy and emotion, and giving "goosebumps". Transcending genre boundaries, they create a unique sound that fuses jazz, disco/house, hip-hop, neo-soul, and world music, honoring the Black Diaspora while innovating contemporary music. When Black Voltron unites, they can play "anything".
