For more than 20 years, guitarist Christine Tassan has led her boat with brio, aplomb and an absolutely contagious dynamism. One of the rare female jazz guitarist and gypsy jazz soloists, also singer, composer, author, director and producer, she takes part in numerous musical projects in Quebec and on the international scene, both as a leader and as a guest musician.
In 2003, she founded her gypsy jazz and swing songs group, Christine Tassan et les Imposteures, which was immediately successful and became a must of the gypsy jazz scene. Unique in its kind, this feminine ensemble performed in more than 600 festivals and venues in Quebec, Canada, Europe, United States and China.
In 2020, alongside Les Imposteures, here she comes with this new quintet project, "Voyage Intérieur", which brings together ten instrumental compositions. We can discover a new facet of the guitarist, with electric and bebop sounds.

CHRISTINE TASSAN ET LES IMPOSTEURES Website
It's been 20 years now that Christine Tassan and the Imposteures have been making their mark around the world! Twenty years of spreading Gypsy jazz and swing songs, both on prestigious stages and in small villages far from major urban centers, in Labrador, Newfoundland, on Vancouver Island, and in France.
It's by reminiscing about this incredibly rich and adventure-filled journey that the musicians came up with the idea of creating "On the Road." This concept show will take the audience with them, on the road during their tours, through magnificent landscapes and delightful anecdotes. Get ready for the ascent of the Great Wall of China, a bike ride in Stanley Park in Vancouver, crossing the Rockies in a snowstorm, or visiting Samois-sur-Seine, Django Reinhardt's village.
Pioneers in a domain usually reserved for men and precursors of the gypsy wave that swept across Québec, this quartet led by guitarist Christine Tassan continues to reinvent this timeless music while integrating new ideas and influences with an originality and flair we have become familiar with. From standards to original compositions, the Imposteures’ musical arrangements innovate, rejuvenate and leave room for unbridled creativity from four talented and accomplished musicians.
With 7 albums and more than 600 concerts in various venues and festivals, including numerous appearances in major events and tours across Canada, Europe, USA and China, they have cultivated the adoration and loyalty of an ever growing fan base. We have had the chance to see them at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, at the Django Reinhardt Festival in Samois-sur-Seine (France), at the Liberchies Django Festival (Belgium) and at the North-West Django Fest (USA).
