For 40 years the internationally acclaimed Either/Orchestra has been bringing their altogether singular, intoxicating and often unconventional jazz stylings to audiences the world over. Known for their idiosyncratic approach, sublime wit and ability to always surprise and delight, No Exit is thrilled to present this dynamic ensemble to listeners in Northeast Ohio. Either/Orchestra will be performing two concerts in Cleveland, presenting a different program for each night.

As part of their eclectic sound world, the Either/Orchestra have been important champions and purveyors of Ethiopian music and Ethio-jazz. In 2004, E/O were the first (along with Susheela Raman that same year) non-Ethiopian artists to be invited to perform at the Ethiopian Music Festival in Addis Ababa. For Either/Orchestra’s Cleveland performances, they will be joined by Ethiopian singers Bruck Tesfaye and Munit Mesfin.

Since its inception, the idea behind No Exit has been to serve as an outlet for the commission and performance of contemporary avant-garde concert music. Now in our 17th season and with well over 400 commissions to date, we have strived to create exciting, meaningful and thought-provoking programs; always with the philosophy of bringing the concert hall to the community (not the other way around) and by presenting our programs in a manner which allows for our audience to really connect with the experience………free and open to the public in every sense.

In addition to our activities as a performing ensemble and commissioning organization, we produce an annual series of concerts, via No Exit Presents, that showcase some of the most singular and compelling performers and ensembles from around the world and from right here in our backyard. On the roster for this season are not-to-be-missed performances from the incomparable voice and double bass duo LIGAMENT, acclaimed pianist Jenny Lin who, for all of you film enthusiasts, will be bringing METROPOLIS Reimagined to Cleveland, and the internationally renowned one-of-a-kind Either/Orchestra.
