April 24 from 8:00pm - 10:30pm
Toronto-born saxophonist Pete Mills presents music from his latest recording, For The Record, showcasing his bold and muscular tenor playing in a classic setting—the B3 organ quartet. Now based in the Midwest U.S. He is no stranger to this format, having previously recorded with organist Tony Monaco on Mills’ album Fresh Spin. “The Midwest, and particularly Columbus, Ohio, where I currently reside, has long been a stronghold for the tenor-B3 sound,” says Mills. “We have a wealth of fantastic organists here, and Jon Eshelman—who is prominently featured on this new record—is one of them. The quartet also features Columbus based drummer Zach Compston and Cleveland’s own, guitarist Dan Bruce.
Tickets for tonight are $25 each (a $2 per ticket processing fee will be added to your purchase).
Featuring:
Pete Mills - tenor
Jon Eshelman - Hammond B3
Zach Compston - drums
Dan Bruce - guitar
This event will also be livestreamed on BOP STOP's Youtube Channel at showtime. Accessing the stream is free but donations are encouraged and directly support the band.
