BOP STOP at The Music Settlement is Cleveland's premier listening room: an intimate, acoustically pristine performance venue with sweeping views of Lake Erie.

Prism recreates many jazz classics including works by Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, Billy Strayhorn, Chick Corea and Freddie Hubbard. In addition, the group presents newer compositions by Michael Brecker, Donny McCaslin, John Abercrombie and Bill Stewart. All arrangments were written for this unique combination of strings, woodwinds and rhythm section.

Carrie Klayman Singler is a freelance violinist/violist in the Greater Cleveland area where she has performed with the Akron Symphony, Youngstown Symphony, Warren Philharmonic, Heights Chamber orchestra, Finnfest Symphony Orchestra, Valley Lyric Opera, and Opera Per Tutti (Cleveland Opera Theater). Ms. Singler holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music where she graduated with distinction and a Master of Music degree from Cleveland State University. Ms Singler is in her twenty third year as the Director of Orchestras and as a jazz educator in the Bay Village City Schools where she has repeatedly been recognized as a “Superintendent's Best” educator.
Anthony Fuoco is a lecturer at Baldwin Wallace University and is the coordinator of secondary piano. He currently teaches courses in piano, pedagogy and jazz. His musical interests include improvisation, composition and classical piano repertoire. As a pianist, Fuoco frequently performs as a member of groups such as the Pulse Quartet (with Brad Wagner, Aidan Plank, and Dustin May), the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and the Wedmedyk/Fuoco duo.
Jeff Singler is a professional cellist and educator based out of Cleveland. Mr. Singler teaches privately, and has also served as cello faculty at Youngstown State University and Ohio University. He performs regularly with the Walden Players, Obsidian Quartet, Columbus Symphony, and Erie Philharmonic. Mr. Singler is an active recitalist and chamber musician, including guest artist recitals for First Night Canfield, the Bratenahl Chamber Music Series, the Youngstown State University Fine and Performing Arts Series, and the Cain Park Concert series. He has also been featured as a guest soloist with the Ashtabula Orchestra, The Butler Choral Society, The Salem Youth Chorus, the Canton Comic Opera Company, the Dana Symphony at Youngstown State University, and the Erie Philharmonic.
Double bassist, electric bassist, and composer Aidan Plank has performed for the past 27 years in the broad and various circumstances required of a jazz musician. Since 2013 Plank has served as the bassist for the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra where he has collaborated with guest artists including Gerald Clayton, Joe Lovano, Maria Schneider, Michael Philip Mossman, Bobby Sanabria, Tierney Sutton, Regina Carter, Ken Peplowski, Bria Skonberg, and many others. Plank is currently an Assistant Teaching Professor (bass, jazz) at Bowling Green State University.
Drummer and Cleveland native Sunceray "Sunny" Tabler began playing at a young age after a boy told her "girls don't play drums". She has been playing ever since. In her early years, Sunny has studied with Cleveland legends such as Bob McKee and Jamey Haddad. She participated in the Tri-C Jazz studies program and is an alumni of the Tri-C Jazz All Stars. Sunny attended Oberlin College & Conservatory of Music and she studied under instructors Billy Hart and Paul Samuels.
John Klayman is one of the most in-demand tenor saxophonists in the Northeast Ohio area. He is highly regarded as an all-around woodwind player and jazz soloist. John began his professional career playing in a summer resort band in New Jersey while attending The Ohio State University. After college, he joined The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra under the direction of Buddy Morrow as a featured soloist. After settling in the Cleveland area, Klayman’s reputation as an outstanding multi-reed player made him a first-call musician for pit orchestras and recording studios. He was a charter member of the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and featured tenor sax soloist with the CJO.
