Tim Mirth returns to the Bill Stop with his quartet with renewed vision and energy. Over the last year the group has grown in ways we didn't originally consider. Pulling from more than jazz traditions but leaning more heavily in combining the multiple personalities Tim has had over the years. What does that mean for the listener? It means an exciting infused energy of groove, dynamics and pushing the limits.
The core trio of this group has been playing together for years now and it shows in ways only people who have played together many times are able to do. Featuring the great bassist Bryan Thomas and Tony Kazel's continuous infectious grooves.
Joining them for the first time, expert trumpeter Mark Russo brings a dimension, not only in his playing, but compositional and improvisational vision that adds another dimension to the group.
Inspired by the likes of Kurt Rosenwinkel, Keith Jarrett, John McLaughlin, Classical music, Thelonius Monk, Indian music and even bands like Radiohead and Tori Amos, we will be bringing beauty and energy.
Tickets for tonight are $20 each in advance, $25 day of show. A $3.00 per ticket processing fee will be added to your purchase.
