BOP STOP
BOP STOP at The Music Settlement is Cleveland's premier listening room: an intimate, acoustically pristine performance venue with sweeping views of Lake Erie.
October 14 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Cleveland-area pianist Dan Kamionkowski (formerly of Northcoast Jazz Trio, Melocotón) is joined by two of Cleveland's finest: bassist Alfredo Guerrieri and drummer Joe Tomino for an evening of groove-oriented improvisation built around Dan's original compositions, with a few reimagined standards (and not-so-standards).
Tickets can be purchased here.
-----------
Dan Kamionkowski started on classical piano at five years old, and thanks to his older brother, developed a love of jazz at a young age. His feel for jazz was refined by theory and composition studies with Joe Ogrin, and jazz piano study with local legends Neal Creque and Dan Wall. His approach to jazz doesn't sit neatly in one genre: hard bop, soul-jazz, R&B, and whatever he happened to be listening to the day before. His original compositions are groove-driven and loosely structured on purpose, built to leave freedom for the trio to explore in performance.
He's a founding member of Melocotón and the Northcoast Jazz Trio and has spent plenty of nights in the pit for musical theatre productions at Chagrin Valley Little Theatre and burlesque at Pickwick & Frolic's. Recording projects as a solo artist include 2015’s album of indie pop, Pearls, and 2025’s piano-forward lounge single “Wintery Mix” (both available on Bandcamp and other streaming sites).
