Skill Level: Beginner
In this small group course, students will learn the basics of guitar playing from plucking open strings to fretting chords. Students will learn songs from a range of genres, including pop, rock, and the blues. No previous experience is necessary.
For those in need of an instrument, TMS will provide a guitar for class sessions and for at-home use while enrolled in the course.
This program is offered free of charge thanks to the generosity of the David M. Gabrielsen Foundation.
Registration is required as space is limited. Walk-ins will not be permitted.

Joe Slusarski
Instructor, Guitar, Electric Bass, Ukulele
Fifteen years ago, Joe Slusarski began playing guitar and has never looked back. With a wide range of music experience in Jazz, Blues, Pop, Classical, Rock, Folk, Bluegrass and 3 years of teaching experience, Joe is a recent graduate of Cleveland State with a M.M. Degree in Music Performance with a focus in Jazz studies. Joe tries to give his students an enjoyable experience while teaching the joy and knowledge of music. He meets his students wants and needs for each lesson to teach them the best he can.
Music enriches our lives artistically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Music spans all ages and social divides and brings us together in community to create something beautiful and uplifting. Music can even heal a broken heart.
