Suzuki at The Music Settlement

Suzuki at The Music Settlement

The highly respected Suzuki Method of music instruction is built on the philosophy that children can learn to play an instrument in the same way that they learn to speak: through listening, imitation, and repetition, in a nurturing-yet-challenging environment.

“Beautiful tone, beautiful heart...”

Suzuki learning fosters cooperation, discipline, and excellence through the joy of making music. Emphasis is placed on developing each child’s character through the study of music and nurturing noble human beings.

"They're rarely too young....and never too old"

Children as young at 4 can begin in The Music Settlement's Suzuki program by enrolling in our Intro to Suzuki course. Designed for children ages 4-6, our Intro to Suzuki course is both a parent education and musical enrichment course which serves as a prerequisite for Suzuki instruction at TMS.

"Musical ability is not an inborn talent but an ability which can be developed. Any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability, just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue. The potential of every child is unlimited."
